Congressman Nickel, Sheriff Rowe, and Wake County Sheriff’s Office Celebrate $878,000 in New Federal Funding

During National Police Week, Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13) hosted a press conference with Wake County Sheriff Willie Rowe and members of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office to celebrate $878,000 in federal funding that he secured for body-worn cameras, radars, and other technology upgrades.


Congressman Nickel and Sheriff Rowe were joined by Wake County Commissioner Vickie Adamson, Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings, Wake County Commissioner Don Mial, and Raleigh Mayor Pro-Tem Jonathan Melton. 


During the press conference, Congressman Nickel presented Sheriff Rowe and the Wake County Sheriff’s Office with a Congressional record statement commending their exemplary service and commitment to public safety. 


During the press conference, Congressman Nickel also announced a new $1,765,200.00 community project funding request for the Wake County Sheriff’s Office that he submitted to the House Appropriations Committee for consideration in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Appropriations bill. 


The Wake County Sheriff's Office would use this funding to purchase essential technology and equipment needed to assist law enforcement officers with providing efficient and professional services to Wake County citizens.
