Rep. Nickel Welcomes Vice President Kamala Harris to North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District

Today, U.S. Representative Wiley Nickel (NC-13) welcomed Vice President Kamala Harris to North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District to highlight the administration's efforts to support America’s small businesses.


Representative Nickel (NC-13), Representative Ross (NC-02), Representative Foushee (NC-04), and Small Business Administration Administrator Guzman traveled with Vice President Harris from Andrews Air Force Base on Air Force Two and were greeted at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport by North Carolina Governor Cooper, Durham Mayor O’Neal and other state and local stakeholders. 


Vice President Harris joined Representative Nickel, Governor Cooper, Representative Ross, Representative Foushee, and Raleigh Mayor Baldwin at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Southeast Raleigh for a roundtable discussion moderated by Small Business Administration Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman.


Vice President Harris, Representative Nickel, Representative Ross, and Representative Foushee also visited Panadería Artesanal in Raleigh before returning to Raleigh-Durham International Airport. 


“It was an honor to welcome Vice President Harris to North Carolina’s 13th District,” said Representative Nickel. “Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the backbone of this economy. I’m excited to get to work and partner with the Administration, Governor Cooper, our state’s federal delegation, and local and community leaders to ensure our small businesses and entrepreneurs have the support and resources they need to thrive here in North Carolina.”
