Congressman Nickel Won't File to Run for Congress in 2024

Cary, NC - Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13), Representative of the 13th District of North Carolina, will not run for Congress in 2024 after the North Carolina General Assembly passed a self-serving, extreme partisan gerrymander of the state's congressional map.

“It’s the honor of a lifetime to represent the people of North Carolina’s 13th District. While my name won't be on the ballot next year, I want people to know that I'm not giving up or going out quietly. We’ve got a lot of issues to address, including ending partisan gerrymandering, passing comprehensive immigration reform, lowering costs for working families, and standing up for democracy at home and abroad. I came to Congress to get things done, and while far-right Republicans continue to bicker and play political games, I’ll continue to set aside the noise to find solutions and deliver results for North Carolina’s 13th District.”
