Today, Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13), a member of the Congressional State Medicaid Expansion Caucus, issued the following statement celebrating the launch of Medicaid Expansion in North Carolina:

“Today is a big day for the people and the State of North Carolina. It’s been a long time coming.” said Congressman Wiley Nickel. “Medicaid Expansion will unlock billions of dollars in federal funding and help to bring quality, affordable health care coverage to more than 600,000 North Carolinians. During my time in the State Senate, I fought hard to get Medicaid Expansion across the finish line. I’m grateful for Governor Cooper’s leadership in getting this through the General Assembly and finally making this a reality after nearly 10 years of Republican inaction.”
