Congressman Nickel to Vote to Keep Federal Government Open

Today, Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13) will join Democrats and Republicans in voting for a short-term funding package to keep the federal government open.

“Funding the government is one of the most basic responsibilities of Congress, and while this short-term funding package falls short in many areas, we can't allow the perfect to be the enemy of the good,” said Congressman Wiley Nickel. “I came to Congress to get things done, and a government shutdown would be a disaster for the American people. This short-term funding package will ensure that our government remains open while giving Democrats and Republicans more time to come together, find common ground, and pass bipartisan spending bills for the full year.”
