Today,U.S. Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13) delivered remarks at a 9/11 Patriot Day Ceremony in Apex organized by American Legion Post 124.
At the Patriot Day Ceremony, Congressman Nickel was joined by Apex Mayor Jacques Gilbert, public safety leaders from the Apex and Cary Fire and Police Departments, American Legion Post 124 Officers and members, and the Apex Community.
“Twenty-two years ago, the world watched in disbelief as our nation was shaken to its core by a series of devastating terrorist attacks,” said Congressman Nickel. “But amidst the chaos and destruction, emerged stories of heroism and selflessness that have come to define the spirit of America. We made a promise to never forget, to honor the memory of those we lost, and to stand up for the values that define us as a nation - freedom, democracy, and justice. Let’s always remember those who lost their lives, honor the living, and stand together in support of the values that define us as Americans.”
