This week in a House Financial Services Committee hearing, U.S. Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13) questioned Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on recent reports that he may have been at a Dead & Company concert, and in a light back and forth, confirmed the Chairman’s 50-year affinity for the Grateful Dead.

Congressman Nickel talked about the band and asked Chairman Powell, “how was the concert?”

“It was terrific. What can I say? It was great. I’ve been a Grateful Dead fan for 50 years,” said Chairman Powell.

“I like people who like the Grateful Dead,” responded Congressman Nickel.
