Rep. Nickel Sworn Into Office
Washington,
January 7, 2023
Just after midnight, U.S. Representative Wiley Nickel (NC-13) was sworn in as a Member of the United States House of Representatives by the House Speaker on January 7, 2023.
The swearing-in was delayed following several chaotic days when the Republican majority was unable to elect a speaker until the 15th ballot. “After days of chaos and confusion spearheaded by a small number of far-right extremists, I was privileged and honored to take the oath of office to start serving the people of North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District in Washington,” said Representative Wiley Nickel. “Over the next two years, I look forward to working in a bipartisan manner to deliver results for every North Carolinian in the 13th District.” The Honorable Wiley Nickel was elected to serve his first term as the Representative for North Carolina's 13th Congressional District on November 8th, 2022 and was added to the rolls of the House upon executing the oath of office. |
