Fair Maps Survey

Some folks in North Carolina have seen their district lines - and their representation - change 4 times in the last 10 years because of gerrymandering by the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA). Courts threw out electoral maps drawn by the NCGA 3 times due to gerrymandering: 2016, 2019, and 2021. In late 2023, the NCGA redrew maps again that will be in place for the 2024 cycle, but court challenges are already ongoing for those maps, too.

Gerrymandering is "the practice of drawing the boundaries of electoral districts in a way that gives one political party an unfair advantage over its rivals or that dilutes the voting power of members of minority groups," (Britannica, 2024).

Please share your thoughts in the following survey about the practice of gerrymandering and its impact.
