Congressman Wiley Nickel Joins The Blue Dog Coalition

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday, U.S. Congressman Wiley Nickel (NC-13) joined the Blue Dog Coalition.

The Blue Dog Coalition, co-chaired by Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02), Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), and Congresswoman Mary Peltola (AK-AL), is an official caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives composed of fiscally-responsible Democrats, who are leading the way to find common sense solutions.

“Blue Dogs” are pragmatic Democrats, appealing to the mainstream values of the American public. The Blue Dogs are dedicated to pursuing fiscally-responsible policies, ensuring a strong national defense for our country, and transcending party lines to get things done for the American people.

“Since its inception, the Blue Dog Coalition has consistently been at the forefront of finding pragmatic, bipartisan policy solutions on important issues facing the American people,” said Congressman Nickel. “I look forward to working under the leadership of co-chairs Golden, Gluesenkamp Perez, and Peltola and with my Blue Dog Coalition colleagues to deliver common sense solutions for the people of North Carolina’s 13th District.”

“Congressman Nickel is a commonsense leader who is loyal to his North Carolina constituents. His bipartisan approach to politics and his dedication to public service make him a perfect addition to the Blue Dog Coalition. We’re excited another fighter for working people and mainstream America is joining the Blue Dogs,” said co-chairs Jared Golden, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, and Mary Peltola.
